Pozolería Doña Elena started with one idea: share the family recipes that taste like home. Every recipe, from red pozole to green chilaquiles, is made exactly the way it was always meant to be.
How It Started
On North Santa Fe Avenue in Vista, Doña Elena was born from a passion for authentic Mexican cooking that felt too good to keep at home — an invitation extended to the whole community.

Our famous red, green, or white chicken or pork pozole is a deep, slow-braised broth people drive across North San Diego County for. The delicious quesabirrias sell out most days before dinner.
Made From Scratch, Every Day
Everything is homemade, prepared with the care that only comes from cooks who genuinely love what they do. On weekends, our handmade corn tortillas come fresh alongside our specialty plates.
